Forming the SRA Panel

NUMBER OF PANELS
Two district-appointed SRA panels (one in language arts literacy and one in mathematics) oversee the SRA process for each student who is partially proficient in LAL and/or is partially proficient in mathematics.

WHO ARE ON THE PANELS?
A minimum of three teachers certified in that HSPA content area must be on the panel.
FOR LANGUAGE ARTS LITERACY: The panel must include secondary certified English teachers. Reading certified teachers may also be members of the SRA LAL panel but they may only score the SRA PATs in reading.
FOR MATHEMATICS: THE mathematics panel must include secondary certified mathematics teachers.
ADDITIONALLY: ESL/Bilingual staff must also be included on the panel for all native language SRA related decisions or if LEP students are completing the SRA in English.
