Preparing Student Profiles
STICKER
A student profile along with the student's
ISRs from each HSPA administration must be prepared for submission to
the county office for each student who completes the SRA process. Since
the HSPA program is not providing student stickers for the SRA process,
the top box on the HSPA SRA Student Profile Form (Appendix H) duplicates
the HSPA student sticker. You will need to copy the information from the
HSPA student sticker onto the Student Profile Form (see below).
The HSPA student sticker contains
two types of information - identification and test results. For instance,
A through N (Special Education Codes) is indicated after SE if
a student was coded as a special education student.
The first letter of the content area (L or M) is shown after the IEP
Exempt from Pass if a student was coded as exempt from demonstrating
proficiency in a content area (language arts literacy or mathematics)
because of the Individualized Education Program (IEP).
The symbol, Y (for yes) is indicated after LEP if a student was
coded as limited English proficient. The symbol, E (for exempt) is indicated
if a student was coded limited English Proficient and is exempt from taking
the HSPA.
The first letter of a content area (L or M) is indicated after T-1
if a student was coded as receiving Title I services for a content area.
For test results information, designation of proficiency levels are printed
next to the language arts literacy and mathematics scale scores.

STUDENT
PROFILE FORM
The student's ISR contains the score data that
you will need to fill in the information for the Raw Score (RS) and Just
Proficient Mean (JPM) by Cluster Information on the HSPA SRA Student Profile
Form. WHERE IS THE FORM??????
The Student Profile Form
also documents the mastery of the required clusters for all content areas
in which the student completed a SRA. (See PAT
Requirements and Selection.)
On the form, list the date
the PAT was administered, and the name/item number for each PAT successfully
completed. Note that,
for mathematics, students must successfully complete three PATs
in each cluster where their raw score was less than the Just Proficient
Mean.
for the reading cluster, students whose raw scores are within 90
percent of the Just Proficient Mean must successfully complete one persuasive
reading PAT. If students' raw scores are within 80 percent of the Just
Proficient Mean, students must successfully complete three persuasive
reading PATS. If students' raw scores are below 80 percent of the Just
Proficient Mean, students must successfully complete three narrative reading
PATS and three persuasive reading PATS, and
for the writing cluster, students whose raw scores are at least
90 percent of the Just Proficient Mean must successfully complete two
writing PATS. If students' raw scores are below 90 percent of the Just
Proficient Mean, students must successfully complete three writing PATS.
The SRA Panel Member Recommendations
section on the HSPA SRA Student Profile Form is where the SRA Panel members
affirm that the student has demonstrated proficiency of the required clusters
at a level to be eligible for a New Jersey high school diploma.
